Lack of Discipline on the road

Hmmmm.... said to myself, tired of sitting in our car... Because the car wasn't been driven for the past one hour!!!

It was 10P.M on a Wednesday evening. We were getting back to anna nagar in our one year old Maruthi Swift, with our Son Gautam. Thankfully he was sleeping from the time we left Guduvanchery, my mom's place. We had been there for my dad's 60th birthday. In spite of the noise outside the car, he was in a deep sleep. I was holding him as he sleep; my hands and legs started paining. I lowered the glass of the car door and called my husband, who was waiting for police man for a long time. Yes!! Our Car is hit by a load vehicle (Tata Ace (in tamil they call as Kutti Yanai)).

I asked Prem, "Is the police man gonna come". He said, "Yes. Lets wait". I know he was really frustrated that our car is hit.

One and a half hours earlier....

We were nearing the Toll Booth. It was highly crowded and we could see the queue for nearly half a kilometer. We both are very much concerned that we should follow the queue. Because everyone has their own hurry and discipline. In a queue, we were moving very slowly for nearly 20 minutes and now we are just 100 metres away from the Toll Booth. And there we stopped. We couldn't move for 10 minutes. We noticed vehicles before our car moving away from the queue forming another line to the left. A man came near us and asked to follow those vehicles as the tanker lorry before us had some trouble to proceed. So we took reverse and followed the line to the left of the lorry. We were much near the toll booth; just few vehicles before us. There comes a swift followed by a load vehicle trying to overtake us towards our left. We could see the load vehicle was in a blind hurry. We didn't allow him to proceed and we moved slowly with queue. I think we left some anger with driver.

We were just 10 meters away from the ticket dispensing area. Prem took 3 10 rupees notes from his purse. All of a sudden the same vehicle tried to overtake us. There is hardly any space for two vehicles there. Before we could do anything, the vehicle is already over our car's left side of the bumper. My husband angrily got out, reached the driver and shouted at him. "Don't you have common sense, Is this the way you drive, when there is no space? Don't you see am coming bla bla bla...."

What is the use in shouting. Ultimately we are the losers. We made a complaint over phone to police control room. They said they'll send the police man and we were waiting.

The police man came and heard from both the sides. Now the driver is little frightened seeing the police man. He called his owner and came for a compromise and we ended up writing a letter to the police man that we are compromised. No action taken against the driver.

Had this driver followed a discipline while driving, this incident wouldn't have happened.

Hence, this is declared to be continued....
